Milam & Samuel

Another shoot with friends today! This is Milam and Samuel. Milam and Lucy have been in playgroup together since they were little. Now Samuel and Annie have a built in playgroup. I am in love with this field and it is so much more gorgeous at the moment because of the wild flowers in bloom. The wild flowers were an unexpected surprise. They weren't there when I did my failed attempt of Annie's 1 year portraits there a few weeks back. Milam was seriously so adorable. He would bring me a flower and say, "I got this for you, Miss Kelly." He turned 2 in December and talks on about a 5 year old level. I am not kidding, it is amazing. Samuel is about the sweetest dumpling ever. He is so laid back and he just sat on that blanket and enjoyed the day, just smiling away. When we were done, Milam gave his bouquet to his Mom. Is that not so sweet?!? Lane has sent a lot of her friends my way for pictures, so I am so grateful to her. I hope you guys love the pictures! Didn't the sky turn out so cool? I am SO glad we did this tonight.

I heart this picture because it is SO typical of little ones this age - the older baby trying to keep their things out of the hands of the grabby little baby.

Kelly, your photos blow my mind! Your composition really pulls me into the story of each child. And such clarity and sharpness! I feel like I could pull the subjects straight out of the settings. By chance do you use Magic Sharp?

Also, you have the most amazing B&Ws! There is a B&W post on the WP{T} forum...any chance you will share your tips?

In your B&Ws...so often it is the EYES! They look like they are dancing!

These pics are amaling! Not only are you a super talented photographer, you are so good and natural with kids. Getting Milam to sit down on a blanket in a field (with no trucks) was genius!! Thank you Kelly.
